I received my Diploma in Medicine from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Furthermore, I trained in Nuclear Cardiology and conducted clinical research in the University Department of Medical Cardiology in Glasgow Royal Infirmary, UK. Also, I received training in Clinical Cardiology, Nephrology, Thyroid Disorders and later in Advanced Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. I completed my PhD thesis on the assessment of cardiac diastolic function in 2000 in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. More recently, I have jointed the University Departments of Lausanne (Switzerland), Caen (France) and Berlin (Germany) to keep up with and gain clinical experience in novel scientific advances, including quantitative myocardial perfusion, specific PET/CT procedures, theranostics and radioembolization. I worked in private practice and the public sector, mostly in academic hospitals, and in 2003 I was appointed in an academic post in the Medical School of the Aristotle University. Currently, I hold a Professor post in Nuclear Medicine in Papageorgiou Hospital, Thessaloniki, Greece. Over the years I have gained considerable clinical experience and conducted or participated in research in a wide range of activities, including nuclear cardiology, therapeutics, the assessment of renal function, brain imaging and positron emission tomography. I have numerous publications in local and international journals, contributions in international and local congresses and book chapters in international and local books. I have delivered also numerous lectures as invited speaker and I serve as reviewer in a number of local and international journals.
