According to Law 3767/03-09-2018, for the acquisition of the Postgraduate Specialization Degree "Neuroimmunology ", postgraduate students have to complete a set of courses extending over 4 semesters, which corresponds to 120 ECTS (Law 67145/B7, Law 1889/2007/Β7). Τhey have to attend and successfully be examined to 9 subjects (Background-General Knowledge, Scientific Area, Dexterity Development), which are divided as follows: a) In the 1st semester (30 ECTS) - 3 subjects b) In the 2nd semester (30 ECTS) - 3 subjects and c) In the 3rd semester (30 ECTS) - 2 subjects. In the 4th semester (30 ECTS) they design and accomplish their Postgraduate Thesis, which they defend publicly and, subsequently, being examined.
The aims of the Postgraduate Specialization Degree is to link basic neurosciences to immune diseases that affect the nervous system. The further deepening of knowledge in this field is a key element in the development, awareness and competitiveness of scientists (doctors, immunologists, biologists, pharmacists and chemists) involved in neurosciences, both in the scientific field of collaborating institutions and in international level.
Apart from the basic scientific knowledge, postgraduate students acquire the following abilities: 1) to apply knowledge to practice, 2) to search, analyze and synthesize data and information using appropriate technology, 3) to work individually, in teams or / and multidisciplinary scientific environment, 4) to adjust to new situations and take decisions, 5) to comprehend information in a foreign language, 6) to produce new ideas and scientific knowledge, 7) to show responsibility, 8) to develop critical ability and 10) to promote free, productive and inductive thought.
