The DPMS entitled "Precision Medicine - Translation Research and Therapeutics " of the School of Medicine and Pharmacy of AUTH, awards a Diploma of Postgraduate Studies (DPS) - Master of Science (MSc) in the field of Precision Medicine, Translation Research and Therapeutics. The administrative support of the operation of DPMS takes over the Department of Medicine (accelerating Department).
In order to obtain the Diploma of DPMS "Precision Medicine - Translation Research and Therapy" according to Government Gazette 4357 / 5-10-2020, postgraduate students are required to successfully complete the cycle of 4 semesters and complete one hundred twenty credits (ECTS) (Υ.Α. 67145 / Β7, ΦΕΚ 1889/2007 / B7) [thirty (30) for each of the three (3) semesters of courses, rotations (laboratory exercises) and experimental laboratory research and thirty (30) for elaboration of the postgraduate thesis].
The postgraduate student must have successfully attended and been examined in six (6) compulsory courses in the first semester, in two (2) compulsory courses, two (2) elective courses and two (2) compulsory laboratory exercises in the second semester, in one (1) compulsory laboratory exercise and in one experimental laboratory research in the DG semester. In the 4th semester he is obliged to prepare and present his Diploma Thesis.
Object of D.P.MS. is the provision of high level postgraduate education in Precision Medicine, Translational Research, and Therapeutics, as well as in the related subjects of Molecular Biology, Genomics, Epigenetics, Proteomics, Metabolomics, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmacogenomics, Systems Biology, Bioinformatics, Nanomedicine, Biotechnology and Biostatistics.
Purpose of D.P.MS. is the promotion of scientific knowledge and the satisfaction of the educational, research and development needs of the country in the field of Health Sciences. The Δ.Π.Μ.Σ. aims to educate and familiarize health professionals with the principles of modern medical practice and medication to personalize dosing regimens, through the understanding and utilization of molecular and genomic information involved in the occurrence of differential pharmacological responses in individuals. At the same time, this program aims to connect basic clinical and translational research with the provision of health services, the productive process of developing innovative products in the medical field in relation to molecular diagnosis and the development of medicinal products. In addition, it is expected to contribute to the upgrading of studies in specialties of medicine, pharmacy and biology, to the creation of new professional outlets, as well as to the reduction of the outflow of new students to other countries.
In addition to the basic scientific knowledge, the postgraduate students acquire the ability: 1) to apply knowledge in practice, 2) to search, analyze, and compose data and information using appropriate technology; 3) to work independently or in a team and / or in a multidisciplinary scientific environment, 4) to adapt in new situations and make decisions, 5) to understand information in a foreign language, 6) to produce new ideas and scientific knowledge, 7) to show responsibility, 8) to develop critical ability and 9) to promote free, productive and inductive thinking.
