Abstract | The treatment of rectal cancer has undergone a tremendous surgical evolution over the past century. In the past three decades, transanal excision has emerged as a popular treatment option for T1 and selected T2 rectal adenocarcinomas, allowing less morbidity for early cancers. The surgical options offered to the patient are the Parks' per anal excision and the transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM). |
