Short CV: 

I received my medical degree from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Subsequently, I trained in Internal Medicine and Nuclear Medicine and I am a certified Nuclear Medicine Physician since 1993. Furthermore, I trained in Nuclear Cardiology and conducted clinical research in the University Department of Medical Cardiology in Glasgow Royal Infirmary, UK. Also, I received training in Clinical Cardiology and Nephrology. I completed my PhD thesis on the assessment of cardiac diastolic function in 2000 in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I worked in private practice and the public sector, mostly in academic hospitals, and in 2003 I was appointed in an academic post in the Medical School of the Aristotle University. Currently, I hold a Professor post in Nuclear Medicine with an interest in Nuclear Cardiology, in Papageorgiou Hospital, Thessaloniki, Greece. Over the years I have gained considerable clinical experience and conducted or participated in research in a wide range of activities, including nuclear cardiology, therapeutics, the assessment of renal function, brain imaging and positron emission tomography. I have numerous publications in local and international journals, contributions in international and local congresses and book chapters in international and local books. I have delivered also numerous lectures as invited speaker and I serve as reviewer in a number of local and international journals.
