Ioanna Chouvarda (F), Electrical Eng PhD, Ioanna Chouvarda (F), Electrical Eng PhD, is Associate professor in Medical Informatics and Biomedical Data Analysis, at the Lab of Computing, Medical Informatics and Biomedical Imaging Technologies, School of Medicine, AUTH. She has been collaborating researcher with CERTH until 2018. 
She has been involved in medical informatics research for the last twenty years, as regards biomedical data analysis and management, and the generation of eHealth systems and services.
With her team BioAsys, she is particularly interested in investigating connected health technologies for chronic disease management, prevention and wellbeing, as well as in the knowledge discovery from physiological and behavioural data and their interplay, towards systems medicine approaches. 
In her work at AUTH and CERTH, she has collaborated with numerous European research teams within EU projects (from FP5 to H2020). She has been the AUTH PI in Marie Curie CHESS, national programme MILORD, while ongoing R&D include H2020 INCISIVE, EUCAIM, CVDLINK. (see also here https://bit.ly/3lyNrKu)
She has developed as series of undergraduate and graduate lessons in the domain of biomedical informatics, with an interdisciplinary scope.
She is Senior member of the IEEE and  has been Associate Editor in Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine. In 2020 she became vice president of IEEE Greece WIE affinity group and secretary of IEEE Greece EMB Chapter.
She has authored more than 80 peer reviewed papers in international journals, as well as numerous papers in conference proceedings and book chapters (see also here https://bit.ly/3kwkzBA).
