Georgios Katsanos graduated from Aristotle University, School of Medicine in 1996. In 2003: He completed his PhD Thesis in Aristotle University, School of Medicine titled “Serine Hydroxylmethylotransferase Activity in Various cell lines”. From 2000 to 2018 he moved to Belgium where he obtained his Emergency Medicine Diploma from Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium in 2005 and his General Surgery Diploma, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium in 2007 In 2016 he obtained his Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery Diploma from Paul Brousse Hospital, Université Paris Sud, Paris France. He has worked as a Senior Consultant Surgeon in University Hospitals in Paris, France and in Brussels Belgium in the field of Hepatobiliary Surgery and Abdominal solid organ transplantation from 2010 to 2018. In May 2018 he moved to Greece employed as an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Department of Transplantation, Ippokrateion Hospital of Thessaloniki, Aristotle Univesity of Thessaloniki, Faculty of Health Sciences, School of Medicine. Throughout his career he has been involved in the teaching of medical students and in the training programs of surgical residents in Belgium and in Greece, as well as in postgraduate teaching courses of The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has participated in numerous research protocols, has published in International journals as well as book chapters and has 321 international bibliographic references. He speaks English and French fluently.
